Funding River Bluffs Council

Friends of Girl Scouting:

The 2008 Friends of Girl Scouting campaign has just begun and our goal for this year is $50,000. Money raised during the Friends of Girl Scouting campaigns goes to fund girl program development, camp maintenance and improvements and financial assistance for girls.

This year, we will hold three Friends of Girl Scouting community campaigns: River Bend Area, Belleville area, and Edwardsville/Glen Carbon area. Rose Bickmore, Marlene Barach, Martha Morse and Maria Perkhiser are co-chairing the River Ben Area campaign. Their team goal is $5,000. Edwardsville/Glen Carbon's campaign will be held in April and will be chaired by local board members Carla Coury, John McCracken, Kevin Doak, Kay Werner, Sue Vandegrift and Laura Balster. The Edwardsville/Glen Carbon goal is $10,000. We are currently looking for chairs for the Belleville area team which will host their campaign in May.

Did You Know?

This year the Girl Scouts of River Bluffs Council will spend over $70,000 in financial assistance to ensure all girls can benefit from the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

During 2008, the Girl Scouts of River Bluffs Council will invest $2.6 million in direct services for our approximately $9,500 girl members and 3,000 adult volunteers. That represents about $260 per girl in your community.

We are still looking for people living and working in these communities to serve on one of these Friends of Girl Scouting teams. If interested, please contact Pamela Hastings-Perlmutter, Director of Development, (618) 692-0692/(800) 345-6858, ext. 144 or pperlmutter@riverbluffs.org
