Summer Day Camp Information

Day Camps hosted throughout Girl Scouts of River Bluffs Council provide girls with an adventurous program by day, returning home at night. Our camps are located in community parks and at Girl Scout camps. Girls are invited to attend one or more day camps of their choice. Acceptance is made on a first come, first served basis. Day Camp activities vary with each camp, but crafts, singing, cooking, playing games, and hiking are included at each camp. All Day Camps are open to all girls, regardless of where they live.
Registration

Mail completed registraton form/health history (page 10/11), correct fee, and camp choice to the person listed as registrar for the camp(s) you choose. A confirmation will be sent to each registered camper prior to the start of Day Camp. Non-Girl Scouts are welcome to attend Day Camp. Bring a friend!

Refunds & Cancellations

To cancel a registration, notify the registrar for the camp immediately. Once a verbal cancellation has been received, a written refund request must follow. Fees may be refunded 21 or more days prior to the start of camp. A unit or camp may be cancelled if there are insufficient participants. Full refunds will be made if that occurs. Refunds due to cancellation because of uncontrollable circumstances are determined by each camp director.

Transportation

Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the Day Camp site. Please contact the Day Camp Director if transportation is a problem.

Weather & Clothing

Camp is held rain or shine. Campers will be spending the day in the outdoors, so dress appropriately for the weather.

Day Camp Volunteers

We are in need of adult volunteers in order to have adequate supervision at camp. We are interested in ALL ADULTS, including parents, grandparents, singles, aunts, uncles, etc.

All Day Camp volunteers will receive training, meals, and some camps offer child care for other children in the family. Please complete the Day Camp Adult Volunteer Application/health history (page 12/13), and mail to the Day Camp Registrar.

Campership (Financial Assistance)

Financial assistance, a campership, is available to girls registered with Girl Scouts of River Bluffs Council who could not otherwise attend camp. Parents/guardians are expected to pay at least 20% of the fee (or as much as they can afford if greater than 20%) when applying for a Day Camp campership. This ensures committment that the girls will attend the program, which is often limited. Assistance is only given once a summer, per individual.
