Historical Trail Program

The Cahokia Mounds Historical Trail Patch Program is a 10 mile hike (that can be done in one day or a combination of days) at Cahokia Mounds. On this hike, you stop at different points to learn about the history of the Mississippians and answer questions. At the end, you turn your answer sheet in at the gift shop to receive your patch. The patch is $5.00.

 

Cahokia Mounds Historical Trail Program Questions

 

This program is designed for all participants who desire to hike the 10 mile trail. Below is a list of points that allow the hiker to understand the history of the Mississippians and those that followed them.

 

  1. Interpretive Center

  2. Borrow Pit

  3. Mound 34

  4. Stockade Wall

  5. Monks Mound; Amos Hill; Birdman Tablet; Trading Post

  6. Powell Mound

  7. Woodhenge

  8. Rattlesnake Mound

  9. Mound 72; Melvin Fowler

  10. Little Twin Mounds

  11. Mound 48

  12. Twin Mounds

  13. Reconstructed Mounds

Upon completion of the hike, complete the Cahokia Mounds Historical Trail Program Questions. Program cost is $5.00, which includes the historical trail patch.
