Girl Leadership Program

P.A. L.I.T. C.I.T. S.G.S.T.A. FORMS

Leadership Program

In today’s fast paced, competitive, and technologically advanced society, the need for leadership skills is becoming pronounced.  In business, politics, government, social services, and the community, women are joining the ranks of men in positions of influence, power, and authority.  In many cases, women are taking the lead and making strides in improving life in the United States as well as around the world.

The Girl Scout of River Bluffs Council offers four different leadership opportunities: Program Aide (P.A.), L.I.T. (Leader-in- Training), C.I.T. (Counselor-in-Training), and S.G.S.T.A. (Senior Girl Scout Troop Assistant).  Each opportunity offers a different experience to each individual girl that participates.  Through the leadership programs, girls learn to respect one another, appreciate differences in people, develop and enhance communications skills, and allows girls to feel comfortable taking the lead because the receive support and encouragement from other members of the group.  The P.A., L.I.T., and C.I.T. all require that the girl participate in a workshop.  The workshops give girls knowledge and allow them to practice skills building confidence to recognize their potential as great leaders.
