Junior Girl Scouts will have the opportunity to make a variety of candies, tour the facility and enjoy the park. The gardens should be bright and colorful with all the spring blooms! The various animals that live at the facility should be fun to look at. Take your cameras for some great photos and future badge work! Check out the construction of an 1845 log home.
Take time to tour the facility and shop on your own following the program. You may want to head into Arcola and visit the quaint Amish shops there. As you travel through the area, you’ll see horse drawn carriages, and don’t forget to visit the Raggedy Ann and Andy Museum. The Raggedy Ann and Andy Museum is home to some River Bluffs Council memorabilia. See if you can find them?
The charge for the museum is only $1.00 per person, and quite interesting. There is also an Interpretative Center that will allow you to see how the Amish live in their communities. Take your badge books and check off numerous points as you explore this unique area. You’ll be glad you did!
