Tennis Workshops for Brownies and Juniors
Bring
your girls to a tennis workshop this spring or summer at the YMCA Meyer Center
in Edwardsville and earn the USTA/GSUSA National Tennis Patch. The United States
Tennis Association collaborated with Girl Scouts of the USA in developing the
requirements for this patch which may be worn on the back of a sash or vest.
Requirements include learning basic tennis terms, tennis scoring, and tennis instruction. Each workshop includes three Saturdays of tennis, Brownies are an hour in length and Juniors are an hour and a half. As a prerequisite for earning this patch, Juniors will need to write a one-page essay on their favorite professional tennis player. Juniors will also complete a few of the requirements for the Court Sports badge by participating in this workshop. Listed below are the session times and other information. Sign up your troop and get ready for some exciting fun on the tennis court!

Brownie Tennis Workshops
Session 2: Saturday, June 7, 14, & 21, 2008................................. 9:00-10:00 a.m.................. Deadline 5/19/08
Junior Tennis Workshops
Session 4: Saturday, June 7, 14, & 21, 2008.................................10:00-11:30 a.m.................Deadline 5/19/08
Cost:
Brownies: $16 per girl (adults are free)
Juniors: $19 per girl (adults are free)
Cost includes court time, racquet use, & instruction for three Saturdays, and the USTA/GSUSA National Tennis Patch.
Permission/health history forms must be brought to the workshop. No first aider will be on site. Each troop is responsible for providing their own first aid. Tag-alongs/non-members will not be allowed.
Minimum 20 / Maximum 30 • Registration: Complete the Program
