Troops 707 & 71

Celebrate Girl Scout Birthday & Girl Scout Week
During Girl Scout Weekend, 3/9-11/07,  the troops at St. Mary's Church and School celebrated their 95th Birthday with: a camp-in at the St. Louis Science Center,  a mass at St. Mary Catholic Church and a trip around the world (working on the try-it: People of the World).  Troops present were:  Brownie troop 71 which consists of first graders - they have 10 girls - lead by Theresa Gratton.  Brownie troop 707 which consist of 2nd and 3rd graders - they have 19 girls in the troop - lead by Cathy, Teresa and Chrisi McNamee.  Junior troop 262 which consists of 4th - 6th graders on up - they have 19 girls (5 go to St. Mary's) - lead by Marsha York.

The girls in troop 707 have been working on the Family of God religious medal.  They worked on this medal starting in November 2006 at a diocesan workshop in Belleville.  They continued working on it as a troop, then the girls completed the last 1/3  of the requirements with their families.  The girls who have earned the Family of God religious medal are:

Second Graders:  Megan B., Sydney C., Olivia F., Carley H., Kate H., Cayla M., Alex P., Mary W., Tessa W.

Third Graders:  Posy D., Savanna D., Chloe G., Emily H., Ole-haze M., Surya S.
Congratulation to all the girls on this award and all the awards earned this year!!!
