Volunteer Recognitions

Many volunteers go above and beyond the call of duty as they deliver Girl Scout program in their area. With your help, we can recognize their service this spring.

Nominations for the Outstanding Leader and Outstanding Volunteer awards are facilitated on the service unit level. Each Service Unit Service Team selects the Outstanding Leader(s) and Outstanding Volunteer(s) from the nominations received. The pins are presented at an end-of-year ceremony, during a function during Girl Scout week, or at a service unit event.

Additional awards available to volunteers require the approval of a council recognitions task group and the board of directors. These awards include:

• Thanks Badge I

• Thanks Badge II

• Honor Pin

• Appreciation Pin

After careful review of the nominations and letters of endorsement, the recognitions task group will forward recommendations to the council board of directors for approval. All nominations and endorsement letters must be submitted to the council office by February 1, 2008. Please note on the envelope "Volunteer Recognitions". Those nominating an individual will be notified of the status of the nomination after review. Awards will be presented at the Annual Meeting in May.
