Service Project Ideas

What makes a service project?

It helps others or the environment
It accomplishes something that is needed
It follows the guidelines of Safety-Wise, page 43

Limitations of service projects:

Cannot raise funds for another organization
Cannot endorse commercial projects or services
Cannot work on or support a political campaign

Several of our Service Units Plan Service Projects which include:

Annual Food Drives
Creating Cards for Veteran’s and Memorial Days
Festivals of Giving
Donating Christmas Gifts to Oasis Women’s Shelter
Donating Easter Baskets
Services and Artwork for extended care facilities
Creating and preparing "A little bit of home" Kits for Soldiers
Tree Planting and Beautification Projects

Reminder: If your service unit is participating in a service project, be sure to fill out the service unit service project statistics form to receive recognition for your efforts. If you have questions about these or other potential service projects, contact your membership staff person.
