Welcome To New Leaders

River Bluffs Council would like to send out a big "WELCOME" to all of you that are new leaders for the 2007-2008 membership year! We couldn’t be more excited to have you! We wanted to give you a few bits of information that may make being a brand new leader a little easier…

  1. Take your training as soon as you can. This will make you better equipped to deal with questions and you will learn ways how to ask other parents to help you and the troop!
  2. (After taking your training) Feel free to learn as you go. Girl Scouting is an amazing program that provides flexibility to leaders and girls but this also brings about a lot of options. Don’t feel overwhelmed – take things one at a time and before you know it you will be a pro!
  3. Find out who are the Service Team members. These people will have the answers to your questions. Get to know your Service Unit Manager, Registrar, Cookie Chair, Troop Organizer/Consultant (TOC) and other volunteers that can assist you during the year.
  4. Attend the monthly Service Unit Meetings (for leaders) in your Service Unit – this is the BEST way to get information and turn in required paperwork.
  5. Feel free to ask questions of your designated staff member (called your Membership Development Manager [MDM])/Regional Membership Manager. They can always help when needed!

Thank you for volunteering to make a difference in the lives of girls.
