Girl Scout Bronze Award

The Girl Scout Bronze Award is the highest award that a Junior Girl Scout can earn. Most troops work on this together and each girl completes a Bronze Award Report Form when all requirements are completed. This form is approved by the troop leader when all work is completed and forwards it to the Program Department so that the girl(s) can be recognized for their hard work and receive their Girl Scout Bronze Award pin and certificate.

NEW this Girl Scout year we are requesting that girls complete a Bronze Award Project Intent Form prior to completing the 15 hour service project that cumulates this award. This form must be submitted at least one month prior to beginning of their project. The Program Manager (5-10) will review and forward a letter to the troop leader notifying her we have received the intent and address any questions or challenges with the project before it is implemented. The troop leader will continue to approve off all requirements for the Girl Scout Bronze Award for her girls but the intent form will provide guidance for the girl and leaders on appropriate Girl Scout Bronze Award Projects.

Bronze Award Project Intent Form: sent 1 month prior to project implementation.

Bronze Award Report Form: approved and sent to the Program Manager (5-10) by troop leader once all requirements have been completed. Program Department will send troop leader a letter stating that she is now eligible to purchase the Girl Scout Bronze Award pins and etc. for these girls along with Bronze Award Certificates that can be distributed during the troop’s Girl Scout Bronze Award Ceremony.

Unfortunately, due to low response to the Girl Scout Bronze Award Ceremony for the last two years, this council-wide ceremony will not be offered this year. However, troops and/or service units are encourage to conduct their own ceremony to recognize the efforts of the girls. A ceremony outline will also be included in the certificate packet sent to leaders for their reference. For questions or concerns contact Carolyn Miener at the Girl Scout Service Center, 618-692-0692 / 800-345-6858, ext. 113 or cmiener@riverbluffs.org
