The Girl Scouts of Central Indiana and the Girl Scouts of the USA are pleased to present the 2008 Girl Scout Leadership Institute – Live Healthy, Lead Healthy – to be held in Indianapolis, Indiana, Wednesday, October 29-Thursday, October 30, 2008 prior to the start of the National Convention.  Sessions will be held at the Indianapolis Convention Center and Westin Indianapolis Hotel.  Twenty-five girls from Central Indiana are leading the planning process for this exciting opportunity for girls in grades 6-12.

Girl Scouts Can Lead Anywhere: Live Healthy, Lead Healthy will offer teams of Girl Scouts an opportunity to discuss health, engage in fun physical fitness activities, attend a concert by a national recording artist, identify health-related areas of interest, and take action to positively impact community health.  After attending this exciting event, girls will have the chance to meet and share what they’ve learned with 15,000 Girl Scouts from around the world attending the National Convention.  Most importantly, girls will learn about life-long habits to sustain healthy lifestyles as vibrant community leaders.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

• The Girl Scout Leadership Institute (GSLI) is open to teams of registered Girl Scouts who will be in grades 6-12 in October 2008.  A team consists of 8-10 girls and two adults.  The Girl Scouts of River Bluffs Council will be putting together teams that will be based on who registers.

• We are asking that those interested (both girls and adults), fill out a registration form and return it with payment to the Girl Scouts of River Bluffs Council.  Checks can be made out to GSRBC.

• If you are an adult, please note that if you register, you will be a chaperone for the “team”.  Because we are limited to two adults per team, we will determine the number of adults going based on the number of girls that apply.

• If you are a girl, please note that you will be on a team that represents the Girl Scouts of River Bluffs Council.

• The cost is $125 per person.  The fee includes all materials and dinner on October 29, 2008 and lunch on October 30, 2008.  Transportation, lodging, and other meals are NOT included in this cost.

• The deadline to register will be May 19th, 2008.  No exceptions!
