TROOP SPOTLIGHT:  Cadette Troop 389 in Service Unit 110 (Highland area) has something special to share – their service! They have been very busy getting involved in community service over the past membership year and the following illustrates some of their accomplishments.

In October, they assisted at the Highland Women’s Club Pumpkin Patch. They helped prepare 100 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, worked game stations, helped younger kids paint pumpkins and took turns dressing up as Penelope Pumpkin to hand out balloons! Also in October, they collected and recycled aluminum cans for the Highland Animal Shelter.

In November, the girls walked in the Highland Holiday Parade and made 40 Thanksgiving favors for St. Joseph’s Hospital.

In December, they created 175 Christmas cards to be delivered through St. Joseph’s Hospital Meals on Wheels program and for the extended stay hospital patients. They didn’t stop there –

they also went caroling through the hospital!

In February, they will begin working with a Brownie Troop to make 100 Valentine favors for Highland Health Care.

Leader, Sonja Barker: "I have a fantastic group of 10 girls who are really enjoying their service work this year. And I wanted to do a little bragging about them." That bragging is well deserved! Keep up the great work girls, and kudos to you!
